Repeal Project announces upcoming benefit concert
The Repeal Project posted a teaser for the gig, which will take place in the Olympia on April 23, on their facebook this afternoon.
The Repeal Project has announced that they will be hosting a benefit gig in the Olympia on Sunday April 23. No acts have been announced yet, but the gig promises to be a good one, as it will be taking place at the iconic Olympia Theater. The lineup will be announced tomorrow morning, as tickets begin to go on sale. All proceeds from the upcoming gig, "Repeal: A Night in the Key of 8" will go to the Repeal Project, supported by the Coalition to Repeal the 8th.
Though the lineup hasn't yet been announced, there is a long list of talented musicians who have declared their support for the movement. Lisa Hannigan recently spoke to Hot Press about why she approves of the project, saying that the topic of abortion is one that "effects us all directly." Others such as Hozier, actor Cillian Murphy, and Jess Kav of BARQ have spoken out publicly in support of abortion reform. Polls also show that it is something the Irish people themselves are in favour of. As Hozier stated ahead of his work with the March for Choice last September, “Recent polls have shown 70% in favour of repealing the Eighth Amendment so it’s a conversation that needs to be had.”
More information about "Repeal: A Night in the Key of 8," including ticket sales and acts will be revealed tomorrow morning.
