Red Bull to present 'Origins: The Story of Irish Hip Hop'
The documentary will premiere on RTÉ One on Thursday, September 3rd at 10.15pm.
A 52-minute documentary about the origins of Irish hip-hop is set to premiere on RTÉ One on September 3rd, presented by Red Bull and produced by Collective Films.
The documentary features interviews with journalists, music industry figures, musicians, archivists, fans and more, as they explore the reasons behind the booming Irish hip-hop scene in 2020 and how exactly it arrived at this point.
Artists like Lethal Dialect, Ophelia and Rob Kelly will discuss how they paved the way for the current trailblazers in the genre, and the struggle for Irish hip-hop to be recognised as a genre.
We also hear about the challenges faced by new artists, as Irish hip hop continues to grow: what does the future hold for artists in Ireland and beyond?
