Public memorial for Lou Reed in New York this week
The memorial will take place at the Lincoln Centre on Thursday November 14 in memory of the late singer.
There will be a public memorial for Lou Reed on November 14 at the Lincoln Centre. It will take place from 1:00PM – 4:00PM at the Paul Milstein Pool & Terrace.
The announcement was made earlier today via the artist’s Facebook page reading:
“A gathering open to the public – no speeches, no live performances, just Lou’s voice, guitar music & songs – playing the recordings selected by his family and friends.”

The memorial will allow New York to say goodbye to one of their favourite sons who died on October 27 from liver disease. The city was central to much of Reed’s work and a large crowd is expected to gather to celebrate his life and music.
