Irish indie-rock heavyweights Power of Dreams have announced the vinyl release of their acclaimed album Ausländer, with 3 limited edition colour versions, for August 30.

The release will consist of three limited editions of 100 units in orange, turquoise or purple vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve.

Thirty five years after the release of their seminal debut album, Immigrants, Emigrants and Me, the 2021 Ausländer is a vibrant and reflective companion piece to the earlier release, said to be inspired by Irish, English, French and German influences.

“A new studio album was something we had talked about doing over the years but the timing and problems of us all living in different countries, meant it never happened,” said songwriter Craig Walker.

“When everything closed in March 2020, suddenly those hurdles of geography and time no longer mattered. It was a window of opportunity that was too good to pass up. I’d been putting songs to one side over the years, as they were obviously Power of Dreams songs,”

Described by Hot Press as fusing “vintage indie-rock with a new, modern edge”, Ausländer was recorded between Berlin, Bath, London and Arizona and mixed by Ali Staton.
