Olivia Rodrigo cancels Australian promo visit
Rodrigo is expected to return to Australia in 2024.
American Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has announced she will not be visiting Australia later this week as originally intended.
Due to "unforseen circumstances", the 20-year-old singer has cancelled her plans to go down under, but on the bright side for fans, she has teased that she plans to return in 2024.
A statement from Universal Music Australia reads: “Olivia is devastated that she won’t be able to make it, however she’s so excited to see her Australian Livies in 2024.”
Last week Rodrigo surprised fans with a world tour announcement for her most recent album, GUTS. Unfortunately for Aussie fans they seemed to be left out. Although, after that hint it seems she will be making her way to their corner of the globe at some stage in the near future.
As can be said for most countries around the world, the 'Vampire' singer is only getting more and more popular in Australia. Her sophomore album is the current No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and all 12 tracks from it impact the national singles chart. Rodrigo’s 2021 debut SOUR was also extremely popular throughout the country, logging eight non-consecutive weeks at No. 1.
