Newton Faulkner to release ‘What Took You So Long’ in partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust
The double platinum artist is set to play across Ireland in November with dates in Belfast, Dublin and Cork.
Newton Faulkner will release his new single ‘What Took You So Long’ on August 15, in partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust.
The track, out via Cooking Vinyl, is part of his upcoming album OCTOPUS, due for release on September 19.
Limited edition “bootleg” CDs of the album – featuring exclusive stripped-back versions of tracks – will be sold to raise funds for the charity.

Last November, the English musician cut off his trademark dreadlocks on stage in London in support of the cause.
Faulkner said his latest song has been in the works for two decades, co-written with long-time collaborator Adj.
“I first met Adj about 20 years ago,” he explained.
“The verse idea – I remember playing it to an A&R team at least a decade ago – and they looked at me like I was totally nuts. The idea got shelved. Now I don’t listen to anyone when it comes to making music that I love – what took me so long?”
Faulker is also set to play Irish tour dates later this year.
He will hit the stage in Belfast’s Limelight 1 on November 13 – Dublin’s The Ambassador on November 15 – and Cork’s Cyrus Avenue on November 16.
Tickets for the Irish gigs are available now via Ticketmaster.
