New Train Track 'Play That Song' Blends Old and New Sounds
If the new Train track sounds familiar, you are right.
From the guy that brought you 'Drops of Jupiter' fifteen years ago, lead singer Patrick Monahan now melds influences from the past 100 years of music into the band's newest single 'Play That Song.'
Remember the 1938 Hoagy Carmichael tune 'Heart and Soul'? Perhaps a young, dancing Tom Hanks comes to mind from the film Big. All the upbeat rhythms are heard in this fresh take as the chorus borrows the old-time melody.
