Music Network announces the Music Network Artist Residency 2018
The residency aims to provide professional musicians with suitable funding for a series of gigs and audience development come Autumn 2018.
In partnership with the Wicklow County Council Arts Office and the Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre, professional musicians working in classical, jazz / improvised or traditional interest are involved to submit an 'Expression of Interest'. A strong professional track record is necessary along with a commitment to audience development.
The background and aim of the residency is as outlined:
The Music Network Artist Residency Programme has been developed to provide the selected musician with access to resources to curate a 6-date concert series to take place within a 6 – 9 month timeframe, in collaboration with Music Network, Mermaid Arts Centre and Wicklow County Council Arts Office. It is intended that this programme will positively intersect with local authority arts development plans and venues’ programming priorities and potentially, the work of a range of community music groups.
The program was initiated in 2015 with support from Cork City Council and in partnership with Triska Christchurch.
Those interested can read the following guidelines documentationon the Music Network website.
