Music college BIMM Institute Dublin will host an ‘Accelerated Application Day’ for interested students
The popular music college has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
BIMM Institute Dublin, part of the BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music) Institute, Europe’s leading provider of modern music education, will host an ‘Accelerated Application Day’ on August 25 from 1 p.m to 5 p.m at its Francis Street premises in Dublin 8.
This application day allows students to audition for a place on the CPD Diploma course starting this September.
Past alumni of BIMM, which also has locations in Britain and Berlin, include All Tvvins, Farah Elle, Overhead The Albatross and Little Hours.
Speaking ahead of the Accelerated Application Day, Alan Cullivan, College Principal at BIMM Institute Dublin said ‘‘BIMM Dublin is already making a huge impact on the music scene, with our current crop of students and recent graduates emerging as successful musicians, producers and entrepreneurs."
“There are always options for continuing education - we know that there may be some disappointed Leaving Certificate students who didn’t get the results they expected and might miss out on a CAO offer, and this application day is an opportunity for them, and indeed many others who are interested in pursuing a career in music, to secure a course place for the 2017/2018 academic year."
The Accelerated Application Day will include a presentation on BIMM Institute Dublin and a performance from current students, and a music industry panel where performance tutors will give advice on studying at BIMM and the music industry.
Auditions will take place later in the afternoon, when students will find out directly if they have a place on their chosen course.
The day is specifically geared towards applicants who are interested in the one year, part-time CPD Diploma in Professional Musicianship, starting in September 2017, accredited by Dublin Institute of Technology.
Students are required to audition for the Diploma course.
Applicants for the Diploma course should have completed at least one Leaving Cert subject or a FETAC/QQI Level 5 equivalent.
Interested students are encouraged to register in advance at the link below to receive further details on the audition and portfolio guidelines.
Alternatively, students can also arrive on the day.
