Metal legends Girlschool play Dublin's Voodoo Lounge this Thursday
Main support for the night are Motörheaders... expect to hear 'Please Don't Touch'!
Christmas comes early for metal fans on Thursday July 18 when the mighty Girlschool play Dublin’s Voodoo Lounge down on the quays.
Make sure to arrive early for Motörheaders, the main support who’ll be paying voluminous tribute to Lemmy.
Of course, Girlschool shared some top 10 action with Mr. Kilmister when they combined forces in 1981 to cover Johnny Kidd & The Pirates’ ‘Please Don’t Touch’.
Lemmy fell in love with the London outfit the moment he heard their ‘Take It All Away’ single.
Originally formed in 1975 as Painted Lady, their energy and short-sharp-shock songs endeared them to punks as well as metallers. Later on, they were cited as an influence by the Riot Grrrl movement bands,
With founder members Kim McAuliffe and Denise Dufort still on board, they remain one of the best live hard rock outfits around.
For a pre-Voodoo Lounge crash course check out their all killer, no filler Cheers You Lot! compilation.
