Moody German bloke Ian Pooley returns with his second album. While its predecessor The Times’was full of good ideas executed badly, ‘Meridian’ sees Pooley erm, pooling his skills and focus and hone on one style, house music. Be it the mid-pace breaky charm of ‘What’s My Number’, the deep vocals of ‘Followed’ the hyper-rhythmic techno shuffle of ‘Flatlet’ or the mellow vibes as represented on ‘Disco-love’ and ‘Dawn’, Meridian is a cohesive, cleverly thought-out LP.
