Memoir release date confirmed for MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer
Wayne Kramer, the founding member and guitarist of Detroit proto-punk outfit MC5, is set the mark the fiftieth anniversary of his debut album, Kick Out the Jams, with a memoir.
The book, entitled ‘The Hard Stuff: Dope, the MC5 and My Life of Impossibilities’, will chronicle the beginnings of MC5, Kramer’s discovery of Rock & Roll and his abusive childhood.
Along with usual tales of Rock & Roll excesses, there are elements of radical politics to MC5's rise, including stories relating to FBI surveillance and the White Panther Party.
To commemorate the anniversary of his debut, Kramer will also embark on a World Tour, spanning over 30 dates.
