Louis Tomlinson announces new album alongside new single 'Lemonade'

Louis Tomlinson has released a new single titled 'Lemonade', marking the first taste of his upcoming third studio album, How Did I Get Here?, which is set for release on January 23, 2026.

Speaking about the song, Tomlinson said he wanted the first release from the new album to feel “ambitious sonically,” calling it “big and fun” and “the perfect way to begin this chapter.”

The upcoming album appears to mark a shift for the singer-songwriter. “It’s the record I always deserved to make,” Tomlinson said in a statement, adding that he aimed to be more honest and personal in his songwriting this time around. “I’m still learning and getting better… I find it impossible to be complacent.”

How Did I Get Here? was written and recorded in part during a three-week session in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, with co-producer Nico Rebscher (known for his work with Aurora). The project follows his 2022 album Faith in the Future, which topped charts in several countries and further established Tomlinson’s solo career.

Tomlinson’s debut album, Walls (2020), sold over 1.2 million copies and racked up nearly a billion streams. Since then, he’s remained active with global tours, with a sold-out run across 34 countries including a gig in Dublin's 3Arena, as part of the Faith in the Future World Tour, and appearances at large-scale events like Soccer Aid and his own Away From Home Festival, now in its fifth year.

In 2023, he released All of Those Voices, a feature-length documentary chronicling his journey post-One Direction. It premiered in cinemas across 65 countries.
