Live From Orensanz
Twemo slackers unplug to fine effect
Remember back in the ‘90s when MTV used to film unplugged sessions with the likes of Nirvana, Hole and Alice in Chains? Well, essentially Taking Back Sunday’s latest live album is just that, and showcases their sugar-sweet slacker anthems in acoustic format. Recorded in an intimate setting, the crowd sound like they’re up close and personal with the band, and ironically add an electric atmosphere to the record. While Taking Back Sunday have sometimes sounded a little toothless for this reviewer, in this unplugged format their songs take on a new life and Live From Orensanz is arguably their best album yet.
Key Track: ‘New Again’
