LISTEN: Emma Langford releases song in support of those living in Direct Provision + receives Dolores O'Riordan Bursary
Her and Ger O'Donnell's version of 'Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair)' is impossibly beautiful...
In the same week that she was presented with the inaugural Dolores O'Riordan Bursary by Dolores' mum Eileen, Emma Langford has recorded a killer version of 'Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair)' with her pal Ger O'Donnell. Available digitally for €3, all proceeds will go to Doras Luimní to help them offer some festive cheer to the 550-plus people who'll be spending this Christmas in direct provision locally.
Meanwhile, Noel Hogan from the Cranberries joined Louis Walsh, Beoga's Niamh Dunne, Molly-Mae from Vulpynes, 2fm's Tara Stewart and our man Stuart Clark for our Xmas Round Table discussion, which is one of the cornerstones of the Hot Press Christmas and New Year Special, which will be with you early next week.
Describing Emma as "brilliant", Noel said that, "Dolores would be so happy and proud that she's been an influence on the next generation of bands."
Ed Sheeran, Gay Byrne, Cher, 'Fairytale Of New York', X Factor, The Irishman, hip hop hopefuls, Pussycat Dolls, Fontaines D.C. and the rebirth of trad also feature in what was an extremely lively chinwag - plus you get to see what Louis Walsh looks like in a comedy elf beard!
