LEGACY: A Pink Floyd Show comes to 3Arena next summer
The band is led by Roger Waters' son Harry, a pianist and composer who toured with Pink Floyd for over 15 years.
The Harry Waters Band will perform LEGACY: A Pink Floyd Show at Dublin's 3Arena on June 29. Roger Waters, co-founder of Pink Floyd, directs the production, while his son leads the band and directs the show's musical aspect.
The set list includes tracks from the albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall, products of Pink Floyd's 70s golden age.
“These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years, and I’m excited for audiences to come together and experience them live again,” said Roger Waters. “Harry has assembled a terrific band, and I can’t wait for fans around the world to see the special show we’ve created together.”
Harry's voice was featured on Pink Floyd's 'Goodbye Blue Sky' when he was a toddler. He later toured and performed with his father's band for over 15 years. For LEGACY, he will play the organ, piano, and sing backup vocals.
“I fell in love with the music immediately,” said Harry. “It really had an impact on me, irrespective of any bias because it was Dad’s music. I still love it deeply to this day.
"Collaborating with Dad on this new production is such an honour, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to bring this music to fans old and new, around the world."
Many of the Harry Waters Band members spent years performing with Pink Floyd, including drummer Graham Broad, who has been touring with Roger Waters since the late 80s.
Harry has stated the aim of the show is to recreate the original sound as accurately as possible. With that goal, the lead vocalist was only chosen after a broad talent search that saw Harry listen to over 3,000 audio submissions before selecting Clifton David Broadbridge, a lead performer with Classic Albums Live, to perform Roger Waters' former role in the band.
Tickets are available starting this Friday at 9 a.m. here.
