Leave Luck To Heaven
US producer Matthew Dear is one of the most promising new techno produces around.
US producer Matthew Dear is one of the most promising new techno produces around, but this new album surpasses all previous expectations about his potential. Approaching the dance floor from a similar starting point as the minimal house mob, Dear’s love of big basslines and raw Chicago house lend his productions a sense of funk lacking in most rigid minimalism and make tracks like the P-funk bass of single ‘Dog Days’ bumpy, dubby and driving. Tailored solely for the dance floor, ‘Heaven’ injects a party attitude into music that’s often the preserve of the dour intelligentsia.
