Kingfishr's Fitz announces he is "taking a short break from touring"
His announcement comes in the midst of an extensive summer tour that has seen them play headline shows across Irish venues like Malahide Castle and St. Anne's Park.
Kingfishr's Eoin "Fitz" Fitzgibbon has announced he is "taking a short break from touring."
In a statement shared on the band's social media, Fitz reassured fans his decision was not due to anything serious.
"I am going to be taking a short break from touring," he wrote.
"I am all good, and it is far from anything serious, but a step back is required all the same."
Reflecting on the band's journey, he thanked fans for their support throughout what he described as an unforgettable period.
"The last year or so has been nothing short of incredible. The venues, the occasions, the memories- we may be some of the luckiest people on the planet to get to do what we do, and I am grateful for each and one of you for making it possible."
Despite that, he shared that touring has taken its toll.
"Unfortunately, with all of that comes a lot of pressure, and that has caught up with me," he continued.
"I need a little time to recover from it. Kingfishr is the thing I am most proud of in life so far, and the second I'm up for it, I'll be back again, but for now the boys will continue without me."
Kingfishr is set for an appearance at Rock Werchter in Belgium on July 3. Following that, their European summer festival circuit will continue with stops at the Splendour Festival in Nottingham on July 10 and Reading Festival on August 29.
The band has already announced major Irish performances for the summer of 2027, including Belsonic Festival, Belfast, on June 11; Marlay Park, Dublin, on June 19; and Thomond Park, Limerick, on July 9.
