British indie-rockers Kaiser Chiefs are back, having shared their brand new single 'Burning in Flames' today. The track is taken from their forthcoming record, fittingly titled Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album, which is due to drop on 1st March 2024.
Following on from recent singles 'Jealously,' 'How 2 Dance' and 'Feeling Alright' late last year, 'Burning In Flames' boasts a bright, propulsive arrangement inspired by retro-disco sounds.
Produced by Amir Amor, 'Burning In Flames' sees frontman Ricky Wilson in an introspective mood, reflecting on the band’s widely successful career and how they maintain staying power. Wilson comments: "Being in a band for over 20 years isn’t as easy as we make it look. Sometimes any one of us could feel like we don’t want to do it anymore.
"There aren’t many of us bands left from the early 2000s and that’s probably at times because it doesn’t seem worth it. But if your favourite toy is broken you don’t throw it away, you fix it. The real success is being able to make an Easy Eighth Album."
Following up their 2019 album Duck, 2024 will see Kaiser Chiefs stepping into a new light; a hook-heightened universe in which the five-piece outfit — Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew “Whitey” White, Simon Rix on bass, keyboardist Peanut and Vijay Mistry on drums — come together to once again create a joyous, zestful record.
In collaboration with Amor and Nile Rogers ('Feeling Alright'), Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album marks the band’s return with a fresh and bold new sound over ten tracks. To celebrate the album release, Kaiser Chiefs will embark on a UK headline tour in April; tickets are available now via www.kaiserchiefs.com
