Justin Bieber drops new surpise album Swag
The album spans just under an hour and features 20 tracks, including ‘Dadz Love,’ ‘Devotion,’ and ‘Therapy Session.’
Justin Bieber has surprise-released his seventh studio album, Swag, marking his first full-length project since 2021’s Justice.
The project includes collaborations with a range of artists including Mk.gee, Dijon, Lil B, Sexyy Red, Tobias Jesso Jr. and 2 Chainz.
Some reports suggest the album title to be a nod to Bieber’s 2012 hit 'Boyfriend,' which includes the line, “swag, swag, swag, on you.”
Released on Friday, the project appears to showcase Bieber’s reflection on his mental health and experiences as a husband/father, following online speculation around his marriage to wife Hailey Bieber.
The Canadian star’s marriage to Hailey Bieber has been under scrutiny on social media following a controversial post.
The singer, in a post celebrating his wife for featuring on the cover of Vogue magazine, shared the details of an argument between the pair.
"Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,” Justin captioned the post. “I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue. Yikes I know, so mean."
According to reports, the second song on Swag, ‘Daisies’, addresses their relationship with lyrics "falling petals do you love me or not" and "you said forever babe, did you mean it or not?"
Fans also expressed public concern for Bieber’s mental well-being, sparked by a viral video showing the singer confronting paparazzi.
In the clip, he tells a photographer: “I’m a dad. I’m a husband. You’re not getting it. It’s not clocking to you. I’m standing on business.”
That moment has now been sampled in his track “Butterflies.”
Bieber also soundtracked one of the promotional posts for Swag with Florida rapper Bossman Dlow’s track 'Talk My Shit' on Mr Beat the Road.
