Jorja Smith announces new album What Are The Odds

Jorja Smith has announced the release of her new album What Are The Odds for August 21.

Accompanying the announcement, Smith put out the record's lead single, 'Alive'. The new track features Nigerian singer-songwriter WizKid and a complimentary music video directed by Gabriel Trautmann.

The video follows the pair as they embark on an unforgettable summer night in Paris. Jorja floats through streets, hotel rooms and late-night house parties before reuniting with WizKid to sing the final chorus on a balcony overlooking the city.

"I wanted ‘Alive’ to feel like one unforgettable summer night," said Trautmann. "Paris becomes almost another character in the film - full of warmth, movement and possibility. At its heart, it’s a celebration of friendship, connection and the feeling of being completely present in a moment you never want to end."

What Are The Odds is produced by frequent collaborator P2J and marks Jorja's first release since Falling or Flying in 2023.

So far this year, Smith has produced an original song to the soundtrack for Riz Ahmed’s Prime Video series Bait, played on the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live UK, and celebrated the tenth anniversary of her breakout hit 'Blue Lights.' Smith will spend her next album release day co-headlining London festival All Points East with Tems.
