Joni Mitchell tribute band Hejira announce upcoming Ireland and UK tour

Joni Mitchell tribute band Hejira have announced their upcoming tour of Ireland and the UK, kicking off with seven Irish gigs in September.

"Expect an evening of the great songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue, such as 'Amelia', 'Woodstock', 'A Case Of You', 'Song For Sharon', 'Free Man in Paris', etc!" said Hejira of the tour.

Hejira pull their repertoire from Shadows And Light, Mitchell's 1980 live recorded album. According to the band, their shows aim to spotlight the "interrelation of the music of Joni and her so-called 'Jazz period'."

The UK-based seven-piece is fronted by vocalist and guitarist Hattie Whitehead, who has also performed as a solo singer-songwriter.

The rest of the band comprises co-guitarist and composer Pete Oxley (The Oxley-Meier Guitar Project), saxophonist Ollie Weston (Amy Winehouse), pianist Chris Eldred, bassist Dave Jones (John Etheridge), drummer Rick Finlay and percussionist Marc Cecil (King Salsa).
