Jazz Artist Violetta Curry Honours Her Roots in Irish Tour
Violetta Curry concludes Honoring My Roots tour at two Irish venues this week.
Jazz fans in Dublin and Offaly are in for a treat, as renowned vocalist Violetta Curry will be accompanied by jazz pianist and arranger Jaume Vilaseca, bassist Dick Thom, and Irish drummer Kevin Brady for a pair of dates this week.
Violetta Curry’s jazz vibe stems from her upbringing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Stories from her childhood accompany the performance as she pays tribute to her father Paul Curry, who played piano alongside the female great Ella Fitzgerald. Violetta will interpret iconic 20th Century tunes such as Ella Fitzgerald’s ‘There’ll Never Be Another You,’ and songs of the American jazz singer, Sarah Vaughan.
The completion of Curry’s tour coincides with the release of her live album Honoring My Roots.
Tickets are €10.00 for Thursday's show at The Cobblestone, Dublin 7, with Friday's Charleville Castle Ballroom, Tullamore performance priced at €15.00.
