Jack White Makes Solo Bow In The O2
The big gig news is that Jack White is to make his solo debut on October 31 in the Dublin O2.
The news was broken this evening in the members’ only area of his Third Man Records website. The pre-sale starts at 8am on Wednesday August 22, with tickets going on general sale on Friday at 9am.
SPOILER ALERT! White’s visit last week to the Portland Rose Garden found him playing a 25-song set, which included White Stripes faves (‘Cannon’, ‘Black Math’, ‘Hotel Yorba’, ‘Dirty Leaves & The Dirty Ground’), Raconteurs tunes (‘Top Yourself’, ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’), a Dead Weather number (‘I Cut Like A Buffalo’), covers (Little Willie John’s ‘I’m Shakin’’, Hank Williams’ ‘I Know That You Know’, Danger Mouse’s ‘Two Against One’) and, natch, loads of material from his new Blunderbuss album.
What we don’t know yet is whether White will be joined on stage by his all-female backing band The Peacocks or their male counterparts The Buzzards.
