Imelda May set to perform in Dublin & Belfast
The Irish singer-songwriter treats her homeland to TWO nights in Dublin
Imelda May dives into blues, soul, gospel, folk, rock, and even cinematic drama for her most recent set of intimate songs. Fans can listen to the Irish musician play alongside her big band line up at the Waterfront Belfast on Saturday, May 27th. She will then perform for two nights at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin on May 29 and May 30.
Imelda's new album Life, Love, Flesh, Blood will be released on March 31, 2017 and features her new single 'Call Me' as the opening track. She recalls how ‘Call Me’ is a part of her life that needed to be covered because in the past she would, “hide things in my songs and twist them around.” In support of her tunes, some of the world's most well-renowned musicians guest appear on the album, including Jeff Beck and Jools Holland.
Producer T Bone Burnett comments on the star, “I’ve never met anyone quite like Imelda May. She is full of life. When I first happened onto her music, she was a punky Irish Rockabilly singer with a great band. I was intrigued by her deep feeling for and understanding of that American art form, much of which, of course, had originated in Ireland."
