Hot for 2019 Irish Acts: Powpig

When this self-styled “14-piece boyband from Sligo” (spoiler alert: don’t believe everything you read on Twitter!) released their brace of EPs last year, these real life Limerick ladies welcomed us into their wonderful, witty and utterly rocking world, and it’s one we don’t ever want to leave. Gloriously lo fi and oozing creativity and charm, they’re one of the finest guitar bands in the land right now, and in ‘Ode To Wiseau’ (which tips a cap to the magnificently unhinged The Room), they have a track which will open up plenty of doors this year.
