Hot for 2019 Irish Acts: Owen Lamont
Over a decade ago when Belfast-based band the Delawares first burst onto the scene, they seemed ready, willing and able to conquer the world. It didn’t really work out that way though, as they imploded in 2007. But fear not, head honcho Owen Lamont emerged from hibernation with the delicious, folk, soul and blues-steeped single ‘Hold On’ in late 2017, and has been steadily carving out a name for himself as an exciting solo act in his own right. Latest single ‘Just Smile’ was another success, and if there’s more like it on his impending solo debut, then the singer/songwriter may very well conquer the charts and hearts of Ireland and elsewhere this year.
HEAR: ‘Just Smile’.
SEE: ‘Hold On’ live at the Fire Pit on YouTube.
