DAVID McALMONT TAKES care of “special guest” duties on June 24th when Stephen Hero plays the Shelter.
The owner of one of the best Britsoul voices ever, McAlmont will be joining the ex-Kitchen Of Distinctions man for a selection of tunes from his Lullaby album.
There’s another must-see gig at the venue on June 11th when Moroccan guitarist Hassan Erraji headlines an African Cultural Project fundraiser.
It’s Erraji’s first show here since 1997, when our very own Siobhán Long was moved to describe him as, “Arabic trad with a punk rock feel…a cross between a Velvet Underground session and the market in Marrakesh.”

Joining him for the night are assorted members of King Sativa and a newly reconvened Lir.
