Heavyweight Dub/Killer Dub
This album collects together the two Inner Circle dub albums which were released, originally, in 1978, a time when, led by the late Jacob Miller, the group were the most popular act in Jamaica, and had enjoyed a hit with 'Everything Is Great' from their eponymous Island record debut.

These 19 tracks are full of prime '70s dub - the echoed drum snap, the melodic keyboard fills and that trademark rhythm pulse - here fattened up by Ian Lewis on bass and Roger Lewis on rhythm guitar accompanied by Earl Chinna Smith on lead guitar, Dean Fraser on sax and Sly Dunbar, amongst others.
This instrumental music evokes the punk era but it was also a sound which established a blueprint for a lot of music that was to follow. For those who loved dub at the time, this double-set needs no further recommendation; for those interested in exploring the roots of '90s dance, it might prove ear-opening.
