Hayden Thorpe to perform songs of Wild Beasts in Dublin next year
Thorpe will perform songs of his former band Wild Beasts for the first time in 9 years.
Hayden Thorpe has announced a gig at The Sugar Club, Dublin for February 2, 2027. The gig is one stop on his UK and Europe tour, beginning early next year.
The English singer-songwriter will perform the music of his former band, Wild Beasts. It will be the first time he performs tracks from the English indie-rock band in 9 years.
Thorpe expressed his excitement for the tour on social media.
"Rehearsing these songs has been its own kind of experience," he said. "Some I haven’t played for eighteen years, yet the fingers still find their positions and the words rise in the chest. Memories bound to the bones of songs feel mobile again.
"It’s a joining‑up feeling — decisions, techniques, places, people forming pathways across a big map. All in all, it feels like the right moment.
"So greatly looking forward to seeing you there."
Formed in Kendall, England in 2002, Wild Beasts released their first single, 'Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants,' on in November 2006, before signing to Domino Records.
They went on to release five acclaimed albums: Limbo, Panto in 2008, Two Dancers in 2009, Smother in 2011, Present Tense in 2014 and Boy King in 2016. Two Dancers was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
After the band split up in 2016, Thorpe pursed a solo career and released his debut album Diviner in May 2019.
Tickets for his Dublin show go on sale via Ticketmaster on Friday, July 10 at 10a.m.
