Harry Hudson Taylor releases debut single 'Dear You, It's Me'
Now based in Berlin, the singer-songwriter’s spoken word piece has been released alongside its instrumental version
Harry Hudson Taylor, from Irish folk and Americana duo Hudson Taylor, has released his debut solo single ‘Dear You, It’s Me’.
The Dublin native began his solo career after Hudson Taylor parted ways in 2022.
Although this spoken-word approach is a one-off, it has been stated that upcoming releases will return to his melodic style.
“While this format is a one-off departure from his usual songwriting style, Harry’s next releases will return to melodic, sung material, continuing his journey as a storyteller through song,” according to a press release.
“I wrote this as a diary entry during a break at the café where I was working. I was writing along to the instrumental hip-hop beats my boss always had playing,” the musician said.
“It started as something I needed to hear — a quiet conversation with myself. I figured, if I needed it, maybe someone else might too. That’s why I’ve included the instrumental version as well — something grounding and spacious. I like the idea that it can hold people without words, just as it did for me.”
The single artwork also ties back to the original journal entry, incorporating handwritten text around a portrait of the artist.
