Grimes drops new single ‘Violence’

As she foreshadowed earlier this week with a cryptic Instagram post, new Grimes music has arrived today. A collaborative track with Canadian electronic musician i_o, ‘Violence’ sounds ready-made for the dancefloor. Its a formula proven to work: classic kickdrum, bubblegum synths, and a soaring vocal delivery make the track feel like an instant hit.

The song is also accompanied with a music video directed by Grimes herself. In it, she reads from ‘The Art of War,’ carries a sword, and does some fierce choreography with backup dancers.

‘Violence’ is expected to be the first single from Grimes next album MISS ANTHROPOCENE, which still comes without a release date. Luckily, ‘Violence’ is an infectious track that is bound to hold fans over in the meantime.
