Gavin James’ Goldrush debuts at No.1 on Irish album charts
NewDad also achieved No.12 with their album Altar
Singer-songwriter Gavin James has stormed straight to the top of the Official Irish Album Charts this week with his album Goldrush.
Released last Friday, the much-anticipated LP has become James' third Irish No.1, following The Sweetest Part (2022) and Boxes (2020)
“To see Goldrush go straight to No.1 in Ireland is incredibly humbling,” James said. “This album is personal, a labour of love. Thank you to every fan, streamer, and retailer who made this happen. You made this moment possible.”
The singer will cap off his chart success tonight with the final show of a five-night run at his Dublin pub, Doyle’s Corner, before heading to the Netherlands for a 10-day European tour.
Meanwhile, Galway indie band NewDad have scored a strong debut of their own, entering the chart at No.12 with their new album Altar.
