Fred again.. and Obongjayar release new collaboration, 'adore u'
Fred again.. is set to headline Electric Picnic next month.
Electronic songwriter and producer Fred Again.. and musician Obongjayar have teamed up for a new single 'adore u'.
Alongside the song's announcement, Fred Again.. shared his excitement for the release in an emphatic Instagram post. He also seemed to tease more music ahead, music different from what he'd released in the past.
"This is the first song of a whole new world to me," he wrote, "One that I cant wait to show you more of. Very very much. Actually VERY much. Very FUCKING much. Oo that one was weird."
He then disclosed that the song is a tribute to their respective younger siblings. "OB made this song for his lil brother. I made it for my lil sister without knowing this. So to me its for siblings, in any way that manifests."
Fred Again had nothing but praise for Obongjayar, describing his voice as "delicately beautiful". He also shared a text conversation he had with the artist in which he described the song to be "like a hug," admitting in the caption his nervousness to share the song with Obongjayar as the collaboration took shape.

Obongjayar is a Nigerian musician based in London, and his debut studio album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors, was released in 2022. 'adore u' is his second release of 2023, following his single 'Just Cool'.
Fred Again has seen an incredibly prolific career since his 2019 debut, becoming one of the most well-known electronic artists in the scene. So far, he has released six full-length albums, and this new single is the first new release since Fred Again.. teamed up with Brian Eno in May for a joint album, Secret Life.
The massively successful songwriter/producer is set to headline at Electric Picnic next month, joining the likes of Billie Eilish, Niall Horan and Paolo Nutini.
