Flynn Johnson releases live performance video of THE GREEN BOX THEORY
The rapper returned to his native Blanchardstown to film a live performance of his debut album, THE GREEN BOX THEORY.
Flynn Johnson has released a live performance film entitled THE GREEN BOX THEORY - LIVE FROM THE HILL. In it, he plays the entirety of his debut album THE GREEN BOX THEORY on Whitestown Estate in Blanchardstown, the setting that inspired the LP.
The 36-minute film depicts Johnson rapping into a wired mic, pacing atop the hill he speaks of in opening track 'CHILDREN OF THE HILL'. A black and white filter gives the video a vintage vibe, while Johnson's energetic performance style keeps it feeling fresh.
Joshua Mulholland and Johnson collaborated to direct the short film, and Odd Numbers lent his audio engineering and mixing skills to the project. The performance features Craig Byrne playing the role of 'Younger Flynn'.

Released in November 2025 via Golden Éire Records, THE GREEN BOX THEORY is a 12-track hip-hop album that dwells on Johnson's Blanchardstown upbringing.
"Everything in this record starts and ends at the green box," Johnson said of the album. "I wrote it from the head of the cheeky young fella who talked big, dressed louder, and learned the hard way that your bark can be bigger than your bite."
"These songs hold the laughter, the grief, the heartbreak, and the daft courage you get off your mates. It's me saying 'meet me at the green box' one more time and putting our small stories on record, so they don’t get twisted or forgotten."
