Five years after the airing of the final episode, the soundtrack to Steven Van Zandt’s ‘Lilyhammer’ is released
Van Zandt, known on stage as Little Steven, recently released a two-part album containing the soundtrack for the Netflix series “Lilyhammer.” In the series, which ran for three seasons between 2012 and 2014, Van Zandt stars as Frank Tagliano, a New York City mobster who goes into witness protection in the eponymous city in Norway.
Throughout his work on the show, Van Zandt composed the score for all three seasons, supplemented by production and songwriting work.
Lilyhammer The Score Vol.1: Jazz contains 13 compositions, many of which feature Little Steven himself on vocals. Lilyhammer The Score Vol.2: Folk, Rock, Rio, Bits and Pieces features 36 tracks including musical cues and full songs. As the title suggests, it packs nearly every genre imaginable in a wide array of instrumental stylings.
The release comes on the heels of Little Steven’s first new material in 20 years, Summer of Sorcery, which he is currently touring for. He will make a stop in Dublin, playing at Vicar Street, tickets available here: https://www.ticketmaster.ie/venueartist/198259/735522
