Father John Misty Covers anti-Trump Song

The U.S. presidential election takes place tomorrow, causing last minute panic as everyone realizes that Trump or Clinton will actually be a national leader. Musicians have increased their voices this particular election, warning everyone of the Big Bad Trump. Father John Misty joins the others with his cover of anti-Donald Trump song ‘Trump’s Private Pilot’.

Tim Heidecker originally wrote the song around the time of the Republican National Convention. Heidecker released the song yesterday for song number 45 of the 30 days, 50 songs Campaign, saying, "I’ve performed it live a few times, and let me tell you: there’s a real cathartic satisfaction in singing the last few lines, and I always choke up a bit.”

The haunting lyrics "For when we take off for Cleveland/And clear the tri-state sprawl/I will find a field and I will take her down/Screaming justice for you all" come from the perspective of Trump's pilot, and gestures at a kamikaze style sacrifice for America.
