Farah Elle soothed souls on the Oxjam Stage

In our recent issue of Hot Press, we introduced Farah as a talent to be reckoned with - her enchanting set at EP proved we weren't wrong.

If you were feeling a little worse for wear Sunday evening, her angelic voice was the tonic you needed. The lovely Ms Elle first came to your reviewer's notice when her Knockanstockan set ended in much deserved thunderous applause.

It may have been her first Electric Picnic, but the delicate singer owned the stage like a pro. Against the grey skies, she was a ray of sunshine - quite literally, with sunflowers adorning her petite frame.
Talk about a fashion trendsetter. Using the cliched term 'unique' is unavoidable when it comes to Farah's look. From her '70s inspired headband, to her crimson lips and old-school Hollywood glamour - this little lady radiated class.

She opened her set with her debut single 'Silk' - an Arabic, bluesy soul-searching ditty inspired by her Libyan roots, that sent shivers down the spine with ethereal vocals, punchy percussion and vamping keyboard. 'Sunblock', 'Curfew' and 'Holiday' transitioned smoothly like a symphony, while exposing her powerful range of vocals.

The whole performance was mesmerising with her theatrical presence and child-like enthusiasm for her music endearing her to the audience, while her incredible Freddie Mercuryesque intros were painfully delicate and tinkling moments of piano genius.

Closing with the hypnotic 'Rajeen', a cursory glance at the crowd proved that they had fallen for the otherworldly and infectious songstress, and if you catch one of her next gigs you will too.
