Evil On Your Mind
Oddly relevant, Evil On Your Mind is a CD to add to your collection if you like your music raw and retro.
The Stumbleweeds speed helter skelter through 15 songs, including versions of tunes by Harlan Howard, Wanda Jackson, Leon Payne and Ivy J Bryant – the latter the oft-covered ‘Only Mama That’ll Walk The Line’. Lead singer Lynnette Lenker brings energy and sass to these songs, and she is also writer of two of the new cuts featured. They can rock out, as on ‘Hard Times Ahead’ or ‘I Love You Because’ (which is the polar opposite of the renowned Jim Reeves version). They hit the rockabilly main vein with songs like ‘Running Out Of Money’ and slow the pace down with Lenker’s ‘Doggone Thing’. Oddly relevant, Evil On Your Mind is a CD to add to your collection if you like your music raw and retro.
