Empire of the Sun announce Fairview Park gig
Tickets for the gig go on sale Friday, January 30, at 10AM via Ticketmaster.ie.
Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun have announced they will play Dublin's Fairview Park on June 30.
The gig marks their first time playing in Ireland and will feature hits such as ‘Walking On A Dream’, ‘We Are The People’, ‘Alive’, and ‘High and Low’, as well as tracks from their 2024 album, Ask That God.
Formed in 2007, Empire of the Sun is a collaboration between Luke Steele of alternative rock band The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of electronic dance band Pnau.
The band are known for their elaborate stage sets and headdresses (such as wearing kabuto, war bonnets and war paint) and have worked with a number of designers, including Jessica Huerta.
"The vision of this band is built on imagination, it comes from studying the samurais in art school, from digital graphics to topography to filming under the ocean to oil paintings – anything, really," said Steele.
The duo have won a number of Australian music awards, with their 2008 debut album, Walking on a Dream, receiving 11 nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 2009 and winning seven – including Album of the Year.
Tickets for the Fairview Park gig go on sale Friday, January 30, at 10AM via Ticketmaster.ie.
