Electric Picnic Live Review - Lily Allen
Lily Allen wasted no time easing into her set on the Main Stage at Electric Picnic last night, launching into a rendition of LDN that the crowd hopping from the get-go.
Giant baby bottles that glowed green and pink littered the stage and the purple-haired Lily was joined now and then by her trusty troupe of gyrating backup dancers. ‘Not Fair,’ was undoubtedly the pick of the set list. Dubbing it as “one for the ladies,” she performed the anthem about sexual frustration to the backdrop of a slide show of naked men - all images were cheekily censored by watches, cash, handbags, cars and jumbo jets, of course.
There were no barriers between the London pop star and her crowd, both figuratively and literally at times; at one point, she summoned a stunned, pink-haired young man by the name of Conor to the stage to help her out with ‘Fuck You,’ simply because he caught her eye.
She finished with ‘Smile,’ wrapping up one of the funniest, quirkiest and endlessly entertaining sets of the weekend.
