David Keenan debut album is on its way
2019 has been good to the singer/songwriter as he gathers speed with his album on the way and a headline Olympia Theatre show announced for next year.
Singer/songwriter David Keenan is to release his very first album, A Beginner's Guide to Bravery on August 16 this year.
"A document of experiences with the human condition from before to present tense. The inner and the outer worlds, life, death and rebirth, the brutality and beauty and the tightrope between the two," says Keenan. "Come, give us your hand there and let’s go for a walk. There are things I wish to share."
Keenan is renowned for his poetic style of songwriting and capturing raw emotion alongside his soft spoken and melodic vocals. There's a unique intimacy to his music and his arrival onto the music scene is very much welcome.
He came into prominence after a video of him performing his own song 'El Paso' in a Maxi Taxi went viral and was even played by radio stations across the States. The song drew parallels with the Mexican city and his own hometown, Dundalk that sits on the border between the North and the Republic.
David Keenan will be holding a gathering for the first 100 people to pre-order his vinyl, the location will be secret and patrons will have to "await further communication for instructions..."
You can pre-order the vinyl here.
