Cydonia
While it’s very easy to get excited about a new Orb long player, the bad news is that it’s very hard to get excited about Cydonia.
While it’s very easy to get excited about a new Orb long player, the bad news is that it’s very hard to get excited about Cydonia. While the Bedrock mixes that emerged late last year were promising, the watery version of the comeback single 'Once More' that surfaces here. epitomises everything that is so safe, predictable and downright boring about the latest offering from Planet Orb. Former glories like U.F. Orb and the superb Orbus Terrarum were exhilarating journeys into strange sonic lands of abstract blips and bleeps, but in poor contrast Cydonia is merely soulless.
On the loopy 'A Mile Long Lump Of Lard' they nearly recapture some kind of form with a wacky reminder of how good they can be, but it is still a very severe case of far too little far too late.
