Australian indie-rock singer Courtney Barnett has announced she will release her new album, Creature of Habit, on March 27.
The record is made up of 10 tracks, including the previously released 'Stay in Your Lane' as well as her new single, 'Site Unseen', a duet featuring Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield.
“I tried 3 separate times over 2 years to track this song, and each time it either wasn’t finished or didn’t sound right and each time we had to start again,” said Barnett.
“I kept hearing this really high harmony in my head, so for the fourth and final version, I asked Katie if she’d be into singing it with me. I’m a big Waxahatchee fan.
"I really love Katie’s songwriting and her voice, so it was an honour to have her sing on ‘Site Unseen’.”
Barnett's debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, was released in 2015. At the 2015 ARIA Music Awards, she won four awards from eight nominations and also earned a nomination for Best New Artist at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
Barnett put out her fourth studio album, Things Take Time, Take Time, in 2021. In the same year, Barnett and Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa wrote an instrumental soundtrack for the documentary Anonymous Club, which focused on Barnett's rise to fame.
