Country music heavyweights John Prine and Sturgill Simpson to tour Ireland together
Irish country music fans will be delighted to hear that one of the true legends of the genre, John Prine, and a contemporary superstar, Sturgill Simpson, will be touring Ireland together in August.
Prine is a beloved icon of country music. Since bursting onto the scene in 1971, the 70 year old has influenced and inspired artists such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and countless others. Prine is a two-time Grammy winner, and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The man who will be joining him, Sturgill Simpson, was nominated at the Grammys for the Album of the Year, for his 3rd album A Sailor’s Guide to Earth. While pipped for best album, he did take home the Best Country Album gong
Tickets for the tour will go on sale at 9am this Friday. A list of the dates and venues is below.
