Clairo announces sophomore album Sling, shares new song 'Blouse'
Clairo gave her first televised performance of 'Blouse' on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night.
Clairo has released her first single in two years in the form of 'Blouse', which features backing vocals from none other than Lorde.
The song is the first to be taken from Clairo’s forthcoming second studio album, Sling, which is due to arrive on July 16.
The delicate ‘Blouse’ involves production from Jack Antonoff, and has landed on the same day as Lorde’s first song in four years, ‘Solar Power’, which was also produced by Antonoff.
'Solar Power' also has background vocals provided by Clairo, as well as Phoebe Bridgers.
In a statement shared on Twitter, Clairo – real name Claire Cottrill – explained the origins of the album.

“Joanie, my dog, opened up my world in ways I didn’t think were capable,” she said.
“By caring for her, it forced me to face my own thoughts about parenthood and what it would mean to me. stories as lessons, regrets as remorse.. thinking about something/someone before yourself.
“It’s a glimpse into a world where I found that domesticity is what I was missing.”
‘Blouse’ is Clairo’s first official single since the release of her 2019 debut album Immunity, but the musician has unveiled a host of covers on social media from The Strokes and Carole King.
