Christy Moore to perform 'Palestine' on The Tonight Show

Irish folk music giant Christy Moore is set to perform Jim Page’s song ‘Palestine’ on The Tonight Show at 10pm this evening.

The performance coincides with Simon Harris's historic announcement this morning, that Ireland will formally recognise the State of Palestine.

Since the October 7, Moore has been vocal about his support of the Palestinian people.

In February, Moore played a special gig at Vicar Street to raise money for the Gaza Emergency Regional Fund.

Moore performed his rendition of ‘Palestine’ at Wexford Opera House in April, as part of a series of sold-out gigs.

Renowned for his distinctive writing, incisive lyrics, and renditions of traditional ballads, Moore has recorded over 40 albums throughout his career, shining a light on the Irish oral songwriting tradition, Irish politics and national identity.

In 2021, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the RTÉ Folk Awards for his efforts to bring Irish music into the cultural mainstream.
