Chrissy Teigen calls for Twitter reform
Chrissy Teigen demands that Twitter executives put an end to tweets that promote hate speech.
Following the departure of Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones from Twitter after she was repeatedly harassed, the hashtag #LoveForLeslieJ started trending.
Chrissy Teigen took the movement a step further by aiming her frustrated tweets at the Twitter higher-ups, asking them to do "anything to show you give a damn."
The hate speech that was constantly thrown at Jones had escalated before the actress finally decided to call it quits, prompting the movement helmed by the hashtag #LoveForLeslieJ.
Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey tweeted Jones about the discouraging issue, asking her to privately message him so they could discuss it further.
A Twitter spokesperson added, "We realise we still have a lot of work in front of us before Twitter is where it should be on how we handle these issues."
