Chalk announce new album Crystalpunk and share new single ‘I.D.C’
The new record comes out March 13 via ALTER Music.
Belfast post-punk outfit Chalk have announced the release of their debut album Crystalpunk, due out on March 13 via ALTER Music.
The upcoming record is said to be rooted in the band’s experience of growing up in the North of Ireland and to encapsulate “the beauty, confusion, complexity, and intensity of the duo’s youth.”
Celebrating the news, Chalk today share the lead single ‘I.D.C’, described by Ross Cullen as capturing “a fictional night out — self-destruction disguised as celebration, knives twisting beneath the strobe. It’s the danciest track on the album.”
Check it out below:
In 2026, Chalk will play a number of European and UK dates, including a stop in Dublin's Button Factory on May 15 and Belfast's Limelight on May 16. More tour information here.
In recent times, Chalk have experienced a meteoric rise, with a sold-out UK and European headline tour last spring followed by debut festival appearances at the likes of Glastonbury and Bilbao BBK and their debut US headline tour in the autumn.
You can pre-order Crystalpunk here.
