Cha Cha Cohen is the eponymous debut album by a band whose music has been described as "perfectly Noo Yawk cool guitar groove".
The album contains previous singles including 'Freon Shortwave' and 'Spook On The High Lawn'.
The band is fronted by Aussie Jacqui Dunlay who now lives in New York, while the other band members reside in Leeds. Because of this live performances are limited, although the start of this year saw them do a string of live UK gigs to promote the album.
The album is made up of 12 songs wherein electric guitar vibes and mellow drum beats are held together by Jaqui's darkly melodic voice.

Although they have managed to maintain their own sound, the style of the music changes slightly from song to song and the influence of other artists ranging from Beck to The Fall can be heard.
The lyrics seem random. I can honestly say that having listened to the album many times I cannot remember a word of it, so if you are looking for a singalong, look elsewhere. Jacqui Dunlay says nothing but manages to get away with it by the quality of her voice.
Cha Cha Cohen is an exciting sound and well worth a listen.
